"Labradoodles Make Fantastic Service Dogs"
·Classification Scheme will be adopted
·There are Three Gradings of Classification -
1. D = “Developing’ (4 Generations 5th generation will become AusL1)
2.AusL = “Australian Labradoodle” (4 Generations no infusions or back-breeding) 5th generation eligible for ASD Studbook
3.ASD = “Studbook registration”
·Labrador retriever and Poodle (Toy, Miniature, and Standard) are not considered infusions but foundation breeds. ( All purebred foundation dogs must also have full health testing completed and returned to the AALB prior to being bred from.)
·Poodle is to be used only twice in the D Classification Level of grading, the remaining breedings will be with D + AusL or above.
·No Labrador Retriever to be introduced past D1.
·No Poodle to be used at AusL level
·AusL will be bred to AusL OR ASD for 4 Generations to achieve ASD Recognition on the 5th generation and be eligible for entry into the ASD Australian Labradoodle Studbook.
·IF at any time in the breeding sequence a breeder decides to Infuse then the progeny of such a mating will revert back to D1 Classification.
·Allowable Infusions are:
American Cocker Spaniel
English Cocker Spaniel
Spoodle
Soft Coated Irish Wheaten (Must be Irish Bloodlines &Coat)
NOTE: Any infusion must be applied for via AALB and Infused dogs MUST be presented with 3 Generations of Lineage, Video Evidence of animal at a trot, run and walk in side on and front/back view, Hip results minimum, (Penn hip or BVA), Elbow - recommended, DNA profile and prcd PRA PRIOR to any breeding being carried out.
GRADINGS:
1. ‘Developing’ Classification Level
D1 = Labrador Retriever + Poodle
D2 = D1 + Poodle OR AusL or ASD
D3 = D2 + D2 OR Poodle OR AusL OR ASD
D4 = D3 + D3 OR Poodle OR AusL OR ASD
Note: Poodle to be used only twice at ‘Developing’ Classification Level
2. “Australian Labradoodle” Classification Level
AusL1 = D4 + AusL or ASD (No further Poodle breedings)
AusL is the be bred Pure (AusL + AusL or ASD) for 4 Generations
3.ASD = “Studbook registration” Classification Level
AusL + AusL or to any ASD for 5 generations qualifies for ASD Studbook entry at the 5th Generation.
ASD Accepted dogs will be endorsed as ASD Australian Labradoodles and entered into the ASD Studbook, (considered the highest level of grading).
NOTE: To be entered into the Studbook as ASD the dog must be approved Visually or via Video (by an appointed Classifier) to verify that they are of excellent standard (as per Breed Standard) and are demonstrating acceptable Characteristics and Temperament for acceptance into the Studbook.
Also IF a breeder has chosen to breed with poodle in the first two generations (D1 = Labrador Retriever + Poodle then D2 = D1 + Poodle) and has carried the next three generations of breeding with an AusL or ASD (No infusions or further foundation poodle) then they will be eligible for entry into the ASD Studbook at AusL2 level, as they have bred with nothing other than AusL to AusL for 5 generations.
